China Nickel Market Supply-Demand Balance & Price Monthly July

In July, nickel ore imports from the Philippines declined 3.39% month-on-month to 4.68 million tonnes, according to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC). Meanwhile, the production of nickel intermediates in Indonesia both increased. While the production of MHP increased by 4.68% MoM to 40,300 tonnes in nickel content, nickel matte rose by 0.81% MoM to 25,000 tonnes.In the NPI sector, low-grade nickel pig iron (NPI) production declined 0.1% MoM to 6,665 tonnes, and high-grade NPI production declined 2.44% MoM to 15,474 tonnes in July, based on the data from Mysteel.China's nickel sulfate production stood at 142,525 tonnes in July, or 31,355 tonnes in Ni. content, up 3.59% month on month (MoM) according to Mysteel survey. The production comprised 0% nickel briquette/powder, 63.36% MHP, 28.29% high-grade nickel matte, and 8.36% secondary nickel by raw material.
